Importance of Sv_pure 1

Intro
Recently I've been playing In The BG Server Dust2/Office and noticed some people have been getting some pretty amazing kills and streaks. Some of them, even beg me to question their actual skill. I don't blatantly call everyone a "hacker" or "cheater" because i know that sometimes you will get some pretty amazing kills and some people are just that good.

Wallhackers
We all have seen our share of hackers, but wallhackers can be the most subtle at times or the most obvious depending on how sly the person using them is. But recently I've discovered that you may be able to see through walls, and it is not technically a cheat or well it doesn't get you vac-banned. This is the problem I see with dust2/office and the DM server. These servers are the ones that taken more seriously when it comes to skill and honesty.

Sv_Pure 1
Sv_pure controls consistency with the files of the server, so that you may not have any unfair advantage against anyone else playing in the server. When referring to advantage i mean the use of: Skins, and any other mods done to game files.

Material Wallhackers
A material wallhack is basically taking textures from maps, like de_dust2/Office and making them see through. This may sound like your basic hack, but it is not something that doesn't get you vac-banned because it is technically a skin over every part of the map! :0

That is where 'sv_pure 1' comes in, you can modify what types of textures you want to force to default. So you can put weapon and player skins on the whitelist and force all the other textures to default. As far as I know, there is even a way to get the server to report players who tried to use custom textures (the ones which the server saw fit to force to default) so then you could keep an eye on those players for future investigation.

So basically keep all of the weapons to be customized, just nothing else so you can still have awesome custom guns.

WHOLE POINT OF THIS THREAD: Change to sv_pure 1 and make a white list file.

Wow i didn't know that changing the game textures wouldn't prevent you from playing, i vote yes.

I support this although i want to try making dust 2 a glass game :D

right on bor3d... was curious if we could look into a smaller issue:

sometimes my buy saves... like: i press "b" to bring up my buy menu then press "d" for a saved setup.... that includes ALL grenades.... from time to time when i "b,d" for my stuff at the beginning of rounds, the server says i'm only allowed one HE grenade per round, but let's me get a grenade but no SMOKE grenade..... bout 50% of the time this happens....
