I'm finding it more difficult to deal with the heat wave than it is to deal with the zambees. I don't have AC so my house is over 80 during the day, and my room even hotter when the computer is on. Yesterday the heat caused my computer to have latency on any game I played. Later in the day it also caused my Killer NIC to malfunction and not connect to servers. I had to turn down my overclock to lower the heat.
I've got an Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro, which has side mounted fan blowing directly into the rear 120 fan. Front 120 case fan. I think my case is kinda leaky due to one part of the design that doesn't like my heat sink design, causes a loss of perfect air movement.
Anyone else customized their cooling? Anyone else hasing heat troubles?

DUDE... i got a pentium 4 3.2.... it gets hot a lot.... my avg case temp is around 80degrees and my average cpu temp is around 130 degrees... but when the AC is off... or dust has built up in my fans and heatsinks.... it can jump to 100 degrees in the case and up to 160 on the cpu... thankfully my mobo (intel) has built in precautions to shut down before melting....
try taking a side panel off and put a box fan right the eff in front of it on HIGH!!! lol

I highly recommend researching better CPU fans, and get Arctic Silver 5 thermal paste. Makes it nice and chilly.
Taking off the side for a large fan to blow on it ain't a bad idea, but generally you want your case to be sealed except the fans. Right now I have the issue that the side of my case has a grill for a fan, where I don't want a fan to be. I might have to duct tape it :PI'm a ghost of the wired.

i run at 35 degrees stable and 40 degrees when i use my software overclock for games.
Arctic Alumina is a good brand that's usually cheaper than Arctic Silver and i believe Alumina works better.
Dusting totally helps and if you can, move it to a location that doesn't box it in like the top of a table.
Thermaltake and Cooler Masters are great brands, Zalmans is too but its really expensive
i have some coolers that might work for you if u let me know what type of CPU u have. i have a stock i7 cooler that was never used.
